Project Online stopped working. What should I do?+
Ask your administrator to check service health and messages in the Microsoft 365 admin center, including any specific extension. Gather available exports, MPP files, reports and backups to assess the transition. An access failure alone does not establish its cause or guarantee data recovery.
What is the official Project Online retirement date?+
Microsoft defines September 30, 2026 as the official retirement date. The public notice reviewed does not specify an exact cutoff time for each environment. Planner, Project desktop and Project Server are not retired by this change.
My environment has an extension. Do I still need to migrate?+
Yes. Follow the deadline and conditions confirmed for your environment. A specific extension is not an automatic extension for every customer. Use the available period to preserve data and validate the transition.
Is there one direct replacement?+
There is no universal one-to-one replacement. The best target depends on scheduling, governance, reporting and integration requirements.
