Microsoft Project Online Preview 2019

Microsoft announced that in October it will launch a new version of Project Online and this information is causing a great deal of expectation for users of this platform. Microsoft's proposal is to bring a new project management experience to Microsoft Project Online users.

New Project (1)

The New Project Online will be focused on the needs of the present and future of project management and should offer this more "friendly" and intuitive visual experience, facilitating user browsing and collaborative work.

This launch makes us look at the horizon, as if we wanted to see where the technology road will take us, what news will be presented and especially what is still to come.

New Project (2)

MLPro is Golden Partner Microsoft and for this reason had access to the preliminary information of the New Project and could first-hand analyze the features that will be presented in October.

Due to the NDA clause (Non-Disclosure Agreement) that is, non-disclosure agreement, we cannot disclose details of what the New Project Online will be like, but we can anticipate some points that we will report below:

New Project (3)

The first information we find, and we can disclose, is that Project Online will be developed on the Microsoft Power platform, allowing anyone to collaborate and share information with the entire work team.

Microsoft Power is an integrated application platform that combines Power BI, PowerApps and Microsoft Flow.

The new version is expected to allow much more interaction and collaboration between users.

In addition, you will have flexibility to customize your solutions and tailor them in the best way your business needs.

New Project Online - Change of Licenses

We also note that there will be changes in the nomenclature of Microsoft Project Online licenses. The first change refers to the Project Online Professional that will be called Project Plan 3.

The Project Premium license will be called Project Plan 5 and these changes will come into effect at the end of October 2019.

There will be no additional cost to your company as a result of this change.

We suggest that your company be aware of the need to update your documentation and training so that everyone is aware of the changes that will occur.

From what we can analyze, the platform should still go through some adjustments but users are expected to have a positive assessment in their first contact with the New Project Online.

Please wait for the next posts to be published to learn about the news that will be announced by Microsoft.
