The year 2023 has already begun with novelty for all users of Project for the Web!
Microsoft brought updates to make your portfolio management experience and projects even more visual. The January updates to Project for the Web are as follows:
Increased task limit
Before, it was possible to create even 500 tasks per project within Project Web App. Now you can even create 1,000 tasks per project.
Conditional Grid Coloring
Create rules in multiple project fields to visually highlight patterns in project data. Now you can organize with a much easier and more functional visualization of your tasks, and the way you prefer.
- To add the coloring, inside the project click “Conditional Coloring” in the upper right corner.
- Then a screen for editing will open. Now just set it up any way you want!
- You can add new colors and choose a new Field, Operator and Value. Then you just save it.

- Extended Timeline Zoom: Get a more complete picture of your long-term project in the “Time Line” view using 4 new zoom scale options.
- Advanced dependencies: Define non-standard dependencies between tasks such as Beginning, End to End and Start to End.
- Assigned to Me: Pemit display and update of Project tasks assigned to you in the tab "Assigned to me" at Planner, Tasks at Teams and To Do.
